Placer Gold
Placer gold from Lapland — panned by hand, certified by our refinery.
Suomi placer gold is natural placer gold from the far north — washed, documented and alloyed to AU 585 at our precious metals refinery in Hamburg-St. Georg. For club bracelets and insignia that carry their origin.
Every batch is traceable. The warm, uneven texture of placer gold remains deliberately visible — a material that does not seek to smooth away character.
Gold with character.
SUOMI placer gold, sourced exclusively from the pristine rivers of Finnish Lapland — particularly the Lemmenjoki and Tankavaara — is among the purest and rarest gold types in the world, distinguished by its exceptional clarity and unmatched provenance.
It all began in 1886, when the discovery of the first gold nugget in the waters of the Ivalo River sparked a rush of prospectors from Russia and Finland into the untouched wilderness of Lapland.
Today, gold panning is sadly in decline due to regulations from the Finnish government, and more and more prospectors are turning to other, more lucrative occupations.
Due to the limited number of gold panners, only about 30 kilograms are found annually — just 0.00001% of the world's gold yield — making SUOMI placer gold one of the rarest precious metals in the world.
Each nugget is now harvested entirely by hand to preserve the pristine rivers and surrounding wilderness. The unmatched purity, the unmistakable luster, and the sustainable sourcing of SUOMI placer gold embody timeless elegance and authenticity, refinement and exclusivity.
